Dear Sunset Elementary Families,

As Principal of Sunset School, it is my privilege to welcome you to the 2018-19 school year. We are excited about all the learning we have ahead of us. I would like to say thank you for your dedication and partnership in educating our children. Together we are stronger!

My number one goal as principal is to ensure student safety, and my decisions are always based on what is best for children. This year we will continue our focus on school safety. I welcome your input, ideas, and reports of safety concerns so I can leverage solutions and address efficiently. Our collective vigilance should be the norm and not the exception.

My second goal and my driving force each day is to lead our school in such a way that the only possible outcome is excellence for our students. While easier said than done, it is always the goal. A renewed focus on social-emotional learning through the curriculum, Choose Love, will be the vehicle we use to help our students navigate the world through courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion.

I would like to share a powerful quote from John Maxwell’s book, The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth: Live Them and Reach Your Potential:
